Graphene Related Antibacterial Material - Workshop and Kick-off meeting of the GRAM project

30/06/2025 - Marco Abbiati

Dove: Conference Hall, Casa Italia, Le Phung Hieu 18, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi - Vietnam

Quando: 03/07/2025 - 03/07/2025

Workshop and kick-off meeting of the Graphene-related materials loaded with antibacterial drugs from natural sources with applications in health technology.

The GRAM project, together with two other research projects, is funded in the Framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific Cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). Scientific and technological cooperation between VAST and CNR dates back to 2016, laying the foundation for advances in Vietnam and Italy have jointly made thus far in pharmacology, energy, climate change and sustainability, space science and earth observation.

The Institute of Chemistry of VAST in Hanoi is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence with extensive experience in the extraction and study of essential oils and molecules of natural origin with antibacterial properties obtained from Vietnamese forest plants. The Institute of Chemical Sciences and Technologies "Giulio Natta" is oriented towards creating innovative materials for health. This collaborative project combines these two areas of expertise: identifying natural substances that are effective against bacteria, which can be integrated into synthetic materials to enhance their properties without the use of synthetic molecules.

The workshop is in hybrid mode and the official language is English, simultaneous translation into Vietnamese is available.
